Prevent Rename File Action from processing files that match the initial renaming pattern by configuring a file exclusion filter. Exclusion filter works in the same way as file renaming, but with opposite effect—it excludes the files that would be renamed otherwise by narrowing the initial renaming range.

Date after… | Files will be excluded on the basis of their age (if they are more recent than specified). Both the date and time of the file and its age in seconds, minutes, hours, or days can be specified. |
Date before… | Files will be excluded on the basis of their age (if they are older than specified). Both the date and time of the file and its age in seconds, minutes, hours, or days can be specified. |
File date to use | Choose which file timestamp will be matched when applying the exclusion filter. Creation date specifies when the file was first created, Last modified date—the last time the file was changed, Last access date—the last time the file was read. |
Interactive preview | Shows interactive preview of the advanced date filter. It automatically excludes files of different types—new or old, recently modified, lately used, etc. |

- Exclude mask filter is applied to the long filename, while both long and short (8.3) filenames are present in the file system.
- The Rename File exclude feature may display slightly different messages based on user's selected date ranges and types (exact or dynamic), and selected File date to use option—Creation date, Last modified date, or Last accessed date:
