File attribute settings work as both positive and negative filtering. By default, the file attributes are not taken into consideration when renaming files; however, attributes can be configured to include only files with explicitly specified attributes, excluding all others.

A shaded attribute matches any file regardless of its attribute.
A check-marked attribute matches files only if they have this attribute set.
An empty attribute checkbox matches files only if they do not have this attribute.
