"Can not connect to Instance"

Overview

The warning Event 1250 is shown when connection to a remote server can't be established. This Event occurs when a user has clicked on a remote server in the Folders Pane or when Automation Workshop tries to connect to the server with the Auto connect on startup option selected.

Event examples

See some examples of the Can not connect to Instance Event messages:

  • Can not connect to ad01.local · 192.168.0.1. No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 192.168.0.1:36524. [os:10061]
  • Can not connect to ad02.local. A socket operation was attempted to an unreachable network 0.168.0.2:36524. [os:10051]
  • Can not connect to ad03.local · localhost. An address incompatible with the requested protocol was used [::1]:36524. [os:10047]
  • A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond 192.168.0.3:24365. [os:10060]

Solution

Make sure that you have entered the correct IP address or DNS name of the server. Also, make sure that your computer is connected to the network and the remote server is reachable.

The warning Event 1250 is also displayed when a remote server has been powered off or when the Automation Workshop Service is stopped. Please ensure that the server is up and the Automation Workshop Service is running under Options (or Window Services). Contact your network administrator or ISP if the problem persists.
