Universally available

Command Line Email works perfectly on all modern 32-bit and 64-bit Microsoft Windows versions: Windows 10 · Windows 11 · Server 2012 & 2012 R2 · Server 2016 · Server 2019 · Server 2022. Older Windows versions (such as Windows 8 and Server 2008) are not "officially" supported but should still work remarkably well. The underlying architecture of Windows is evolving and our apps are crafted to be backward and forward compatible.

  • Q: I am getting TLS error, such as "The target principal name is incorrect · 0x80090322".
  • A: The error is caused due to SSL certificate subject does no match SMTP server DNS name. When using self-signed certificates and/or when working in secure networks, IGNORETLSERRORS parameter can fix this problem.
  • Q: I receive the following TLS error: "The message received was unexpected or badly formatted · 0x80090326".
  • A: It usually happens when using the TLS parameter while specifying a deprecated TLS version, such as SSL v3.0 or other.
  • Q: I am using TLS 1.3 parameter, but email fails with TLS error: "The client and server cannot communicate, because they do not possess a common algorithm · 0x80090331".
  • A: Either the SMTP server or Windows OS does not support the newest TLS standard v1.3. Consult your SMTP server and Windows documentation for more information.

  • Q: I'm getting a connection or sending error. How to figure out the cause of the problem?
  • A: Command Line Email features built debugging capabilities using DEBUGX or DEBUG commands. Review or send us a debug.txt file to solve the email sending problem.
  • Q: I get the following error message: 'febootimail' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
  • A: In specific cases, the PATH environment variable is not updated instantly after the installation. The changes will be applied upon restarting the system. However, if system restart is not an option, try specifying full path when executing febootimail.exe:
    "C:\Program Files\Febooti Command Line Email\febootimail" -SMTP …
    Optionally, 8.3 filename format can be used:
    C:\PROGRA~1\FEBOOT~1\FEBOOT~1.EXE -SMTP …
  • Q: Is 32-bit Febooti Command Line Email compatible with 64-bit versions of Windows?
  • A: Yes, Febooti Command Line Email 32-bit is fully compatible and works perfectly on 64-bit versions of Windows. It is recommended to use 64-bit Command Line Email on 64-bit Windows versions for maximum performance.
  • Q: What are the minimum system requirements for Command Line Email?
  • A: Command Line Email requires virtually no resources—10MB HDD space, 30MB RAM, almost any CPU. It just runs great on any PC or server. No need for any external software.
  • Q: Does the Febooti link (footer at the bottom) appear in the registered version?
  • A: No. In the full version, the footer is automatically disabled.
