Specify the folder to rename. Folder name fields support variables, which can be used separately or in any combination.

| Old name | Specify the folder to rename. You can provide either the full path and folder name or just the folder name. If no path is specified, the Action uses the current folder. |
| New name | Specify the new name for the folder. The Rename Folder Action does not move or copy folders to another location. If a full path is specified in the New name field, only the folder name portion is used. |
| Browse |  Use Browse to select a particular file or folder on a local disk, network share, or LAN location. |
| Variable Wizard |  Use dynamic data input—substitute a parameter from a file, web, connected Trigger, other Actions, date and time presets, etc. |
Interconnect
- Rename Folder integration and auditing—Variables (dynamic data) and Events (recorded activity). Access the variables holding the folder's previous and new names (including their full paths). Additionally, events signaling successful or unsuccessful folder renaming are logged.

- Automation Workshop supports Unicode filenames and a path of up to 32,000 characters.
