"Can not write to Task file"

Overview

The error indicates that Automation Workshop failed to save updated settings into Task file. As a consequence the Task is not updated, older version of the Task is still active and new settings are lost.

Possible causes for inability of Automation Workshop to save Task file is that either Task file attributes are changed to read-only, disk is full, or current Windows account is not granted permission to write files in necessary folder (hence, access denied error message).

Solution

Verify if the user account that executes Automation Workshop has necessary privileges to write files in Task folder (default: C:\ProgramData\Febooti Software\Febooti Automation Workshop\Task Files\), Task file is not read-only and disk is not full.

If necessary, login with administrator account to set appropriate permissions. To set permissions, open Security tab in folder C:\ProgramData\Febooti Software\Febooti Automation Workshop\Task Files\ properties, choose user account on which Automation Workshop is executed and mark necessary checkboxes.

Go to C:\ProgramData\Febooti Software\Febooti Automation Workshop\Task Files\, open Task (for example, Task file.task) file properties and check whether Read-only checkbox is marked.

Verify if drive C:\ on which Task folder is located is not read-only media and has enough free space to write files and folders.
