"Could not rename folder"

Overview

The error indicates that Rename Folder Action has failed to rename a folder.

Cause

Some possible causes are—Folder name or path contains characters that are not allowed in folder name; Folder that is specified to be renamed does not exist in indicated path; A folder with the same name as the new name of folder to be renamed already exists in specified location; The user account that executes Automation Workshop has no permission to write files in specified path; Specified local or network disk is not accessible or is read only; Disk is full.

Solution

Verify whether specified path or folder name does not contain characters that are not allowed in folder name. Check whether a folder with specified name is present in specified location. Check if the new name of a folder does not match the names of already existing folders.

Login with administrator account to set appropriate permissions. To set permissions, open Security tab in specified folder properties, choose user account on which Automation Workshop is executed and mark necessary checkboxes. Verify if specified drive and location is accessible and is not read only. Check if the specified disk has enough free space.
