Connect to an SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol) server to monitor for file changes or perform a variety of operations with remote files and directories.

ConnectionDetails
Server SFTP server name or IP address.
Port Server port to connect to (usually, SFTP uses TCP port 22).
Connection SFTP supports secure SSH connections using either SFTP or SCP protocols.
  • SFTP · SSH · Recommended secure SSH File Transfer Protocol connections (support for SFTP v0, v1, v2, v3, v4, v5, and v6).
  • SCP · SSH · Legacy SSH protocol implementation. Does not support time zones and DST.
Authentication Depending on server settings, use user credentials, a username with an SSH Private key, or both.
  • User credentials · Provide the SFTP connection username and password.
  • SSH Private key · Provide an SSH key and an optional passphrase for the key.
  • SSH Private key and Password · Use 2FA—provide a username, a password, and an SSH key with an optional passphrase if the key is protected.
Username Specify the username.
Password Specify the password.
SSH private key path For SSH Private key authentication, provide an SSH private key file. The key must be in PuTTY format.

If an OpenSSH key is provided, Automation Workshop offers to convert the key automatically during the Task creation process.
Private key passphrase For SSH Private key authentication, provide the SSH key file passphrase.
Mask passwordMask password buttonTo maximize security, mask the password characters. While enabled, it is not possible to use the Variable Wizard.

  • Connect to SFTP integration and auditing—Variables (dynamic data) and Events (recorded activity). Access the name (address) of the SFTP or SCP server and its fingerprints. Detailed logs are maintained for connections, including any connection or network issues.
