• Q: How can I fix problem with cut off headers or footers?
  • A: Printed headers or footers are usually cut off when page margins are set too small. Try setting appropriate page margins in order to reserve place for headers and footers to fit into page.

In Internet Explorer click File and select Page Setup. You will see four sections in the dialog box that appears.

Internet Explorer print web page setup

TIP: move mouse over Page Setup elements for online help.

Paper Size: specifies the size of the paper, envelope, or other print media you want to use.

Paper Source: specifies where the paper you want to use is located in the printer. Different printer models support different paper sources, such as the upper tray, envelope feed, and manual feed.

Page Preview: shows how your web page will look after printing with the selected (page size, page orientation, page margin) options.

Page Header / Footer: provides a space for you to type text that will appear at the top / bottom of the page. To print specific information as part of the header / footer, include the print codes as part of the text.

Page Orientation: prints the document in Portrait / Landscape so that the short / long edge of the paper is the top of the page.

Page Margins: sets the printing area of the page by adjusting left / right / top / bottom margin. The printer will print only within these margins.

Page margins are the white space at the edge of the page which is not used during printing process due to either printer technical limitations or adequate settings in page setup. Having different technical designs, minimal page margins may vary from one printer model to other. If your printer needs wider margins, try to adjust your document page settings to match printer limitations.

By default, with the United States regional settings margin values are displayed in inches. With other regional settings margins are displayed in millimeters.
