-HEADER switch allows to put additional custom strings to e-mail technical header. Some of standard technical header strings include From, Reply-To, Subject, Organization etc. With -HEADER switch it is possible to choose any string to be placed in email header.

Command syntax:
  • febootimail -HEADER "X-Disclaimer: Email specifically requested"
  • febootimail -HEADER "X-Confirm-Reading-To: confirm@example.com"
  • febootimail -HEADER "X-Node-Server: {192.168.akadns-2042-0384-2983}"

Setting custom headers can be useful in cases some specific software supports reading custom email header strings providing additional information or control over emails. Custom headers are typically ignored, but presumably some software acts on them.

C:\>febootimail -SERVER smtp.server.com -FROM john@sender.com -TO jack@recipient.com -MSG sending MS-DOS mail with custom header in email header -HEADER "X-Errors-To: errors@dos-mail.com"

Note that if date is specified in custom header, Febooti Command line email does not use original date field.
