-TIMEOUT switch specifies the amount of time Command Line Email will try to connect to SMTP server before assuming that connection is impossible. The default value is 60 seconds which is generally more than enough, however in some cases when SMTP server is very heavily loaded, it might be useful to set higher timeout value. On the other hand, it might sometimes be useful to set lower amount of time for quicker timeout response.

Command syntax:
  • febootimail -TIMEOUT 30

When scheduling DOS emails with short intervals of sending time (e.g. 30 seconds), it might be useful to set SMTP timeout to lower value (e.g. 10 seconds) in order to finish one instance of Command Line Email before starting next.

C:\>febootimail -SERVER smtp.server.com -FROM john@sender.com -TO jack@recipient.com -MSG schedule mail using timeout -TIMEOUT 10
